Advocate For Autism's Writing Competition Ended

Writing Prompts (Archived)

  • Option 1: Imagine a society where neurodiversity is understood and supported. What would schools, workplaces, friendships, and public spaces look like?
  • Option 2: If you could change any one misconception, barrier, or attitude towards autism, what would you change and why?
  • Option 3: Describe the mind of an individual on the autism spectrum.

General Eligibility & Guidelines

  • No entry fee: No entry fee was required. Participation in this writing competition was free.
  • Eligibility: This competition was open to everyone.
  • Accepted formats: Entries could be submitted in any format but required a title.
  • One entry per participant: Each participant was allowed to submit one entry.
  • Word limit: Entries were capped at 750 words maximum (excluding titles).
  • Language: All entries were required to be in English.

Content Authenticity & AI Rules

  • Originality: All entries had to be original works created by the entrant. Plagiarism resulted in disqualification.
  • Artificial Intelligence: Entries were required to be written entirely by the entrant without AI generation.
  • Appropriate content: Entries were required to be suitable for a school/community audience.

Submission Requirements & Deadlines

  • Submission method: Official form submission only.
  • Deadline: Submissions closed on 1 August 2026 at 3:59 PM GMT.
  • Instagram requirement: Participants were required to follow the official AFA Instagram account, comment on the competition post, and tag three people.

Judging, Prizes & Distribution

  • Judging decision: The judges’ decision is final.
  • Prizes:
    • First Place: 100RM + cert (gold) + feature on website
    • Second Place: 50RM + cert (silver) + feature on website
    • Third Place: 30RM + cert (bronze) + feature on website
  • Winner announcement: Winners will be announced on 15th August 2026 through Instagram.
  • Prize and certificate distribution: Winners will be contacted via email to receive cash prizes. All participants will receive e-certificates by email.

Legal, Privacy & Disqualification Policy

  • Permission to publish: Participants granted permission to publish their entry and name on society platforms with full credit given.
  • Privacy: Data collected is strictly used for competition administration, verification, and certificate delivery.
  • Agreement to rules: Submissions confirmed acceptance of all competition rules.

Submissions Status: Submissions are now closed. The Google Form submission link is no longer accepting entries.
